We have just been notified that Kitchener Utilities will be continuing extensive construction. Work will be done in two phases. W. R. D. S. B. will be assisting our school throughout the process in order to maintain a safe working and learning environment.
Phase 1 Construction: September 9 to 20 (tentative dates)
- Walter Street is closed to all traffic other than construction vehicles.
- At the corner of Agnes and Walter streets, there will be some excavation done. Heavy equipment will be on Walter Street in order to do the digging.
- For WALKERS: The crossing guard will remain at the corner of Walter and Agnes to support students at the corner. Students will walk along Walter on the park side and will cross the street into the playground at the downfield exit/entrance. Staff will be on duty at the back entrance of the playground.
- For BUSES, TAXIS and CARS: There will be no changes this week.
Phase 2 Construction: September 23 to September 30 (tentative dates)
- For WALKERS: Walter Street will reopen and you can use both playground entrances at the back.
- Agnes Street will be closed so that crews can place piping along the Agnes Street side of the school all the way up to King Street.
- FOR EVERYONE: The main entrance of the school will be closed. Everyone will be diverted to the back corner door of the school by the gym/office area. Fencing and signage at the front of the school will assist with informing people that the front entrance will be closed.
- For BUSES, TAXIS and CARS: drop-offs will be at the back entrance of the playground on Walter Street.
