It is with great pleasure and excitement to introduce to you a wonderful new initiative being offered at King Edward. We have created a Boy’s Club! This club will be an opportunity for boys in grades five and six to gather together and grow as Critical Thinkers, Contributing Citizens, Competitive Team Players, and Character Builders – this in turn will help our boys be better students and learners. This Club is made possible by the generous donation from the Rotary Club of Kitchener Waterloo. Together, the KEPS committee and the Boy’s Club will come up with a name for the club as well as write a mission statement. Some of the key structures of the club are as follows:
- The club meets twice a month – we are going to try and meet on Mondays but at times we may need to be flexible around meeting dates to accommodate guest speakers and venues. We will send a calendar home in the near future and you as guardians will always be informed of any changes well in advance.
- The club meets after school from 3:45 – 5:00pm. Parents/Guardians must make arrangements for their sons to get home safely. No student will be allowed to walk home in the dark.
- The club, at times will go off campus during the school day. The expectation will be that the boys stay caught up on their school work and stay on top of work they have missed.
- There is no cost to join this club or participate in the club’s activities, however, there must be an on-going and consistent level of commitment on each of the club members to remain a part of the club.
Please call the school if you have any questions or concerns!
