On October 8, we had the pleasure of hosting the Flag Wavers of the Waterloo Region to our school. They shared the history of Canada’s flag to mark its 50th birthday. The first person to ever sew the Canadian Flag was Joan O’Malley and she visited our school today and shared her story about sewing the flag. As a school, we decorated the gym, wore red and white and also sang O Canada. We would like to thank the Diane Bonafonte for celebrating this special event at King Edward P.S. It was a great honour.
