February 9th, 2016
In the past 3 years, King Edward P.S. has offered opportunities for our students to celebrate Canada. Our work has included:
- awarding Gilmore Junio with a crowd funded medal to recognize his selflessness in giving up his spot to compete in a speed skating event during the 2014 Winter Olympics so that his team mate could compete and win a silver medal
- participate in a nationwide recording of O Canada to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Canada’s flag
- host Joan O’Malley, the person to sew the first Canadian flag that is being used today
Rogers Cable TV will be featuring the work of our school in our most recent participation in the nationwide recording of O Canada which has just been released. Our voices were part of over 27,000 students in this recording.
This recording is now available at http://www.flagofcanada.ca/index.htm
